St. Peregrine (Laziosi Peregrinus) was a 13th century monk and mystic. His conversion came following his participation in a public disturbance during which he struck the face of St. Philip Benizi. “When the saint calmly turned the other cheek, Peregrinus underwent an overwhelming conversion.”
